Personal Description:
I’m a pianist and keyboard player. I studied to degree level at the RSAMD (now RCS) in Glasgow. I have worked extensively in music theatre in the West End and on tour. I have had a successful playing career performing with major orchestras as well as in bands, most notably 10 years with Cliff Richard.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught both piano and music theory for around 15 years. I I have taught beginners to advanced level, children to adults.I have also taught aspects of music theatre at multiple drama schools.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to music tuition is based on learning through passion and fun. These, I believe are key elements in helping a pupil progress. So even though there may be a difference in presentation, depending on the age, ability and goals of the pupil, these are the twin pillars that support my ethos and the pupil’s progression.
