Information About Nigel - Cottingham teacher

Personal Description:

I grew up locally in Hessle and studied at the Royal College of Music in London. I've been a professional violinist playing in Sudwestphalisches Philharmonie in Germany, Opera North and the BBC Concert Orchestra as well as London theatres. I've played in most countries in Europe as well as North and South America for orchestras as far apart as the National Orchestra of Brazil and the Bolshoi Ballet of St Petersburg. I have also played for various orchestras local to Hull.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 35 years instrumental teaching experience in schools and universities across Hull and East Yorkshire. I have experience in teaching individual pupils, groups and orchestras. I have taught beginners to diploma standard, pupils aged 5 to adult.

Tutoring Approach:

Friendly and fulfilling lessons to all pupils. I provide the opportunity for pupils to take exams or perform in local music festivals if they wish. Hundred of pupils have taken exams over my 35 year teaching career and I have a 100% pass rate with many obtaining distinctions. In local music festivals pupils have often competed and received first and second place certificates, certificates of merit and glowing feedback from the adjudicators.
