Personal Description:

Thank you for visiting my profile.I am currently an A Level student studying Music, Media Studies, Business Studies and ICT. I have studied GCSE Music too. Since I was young I have had a keen interest in music and performing arts and growing up I was keen to follow my ambitions. Since the age of six I have achieved the following: Grade 5 Music Theory (and am currently working towards my Grade 6). I have attended many performing arts schools such as:- The Brit School: Singing, Street Dance, Ballet and Acting classes. - Sylvia Young Theatre School: Singing, Street Dance, Jazz Funky Dance and Acting classes. - Italia Conti: Singing, Street Dance, Ballet, Tap, Jazz Dance and Acting classes. - Chiswick Music School: Singing, Piano, Junior/Senior Percussion, Music Theory classes. It is my intention to complete a music and media degree.

Tutoring Experience:

I currently have a job at **Contact Detail Removed** Tuition Centre where I tutor children from the ages of 3 - 16 years following the National Curriculum of Maths and English. Therefore I understand the skills that are needed to support the child in their learning abilities and adapting to each individuals way of learning. Part of my job role is to set, mark and give targets for the children's homework that I give them. Once this is done I come up with target with each individual child so that we both know what they have to work on. I am also an Academic Mentor at my school, tutoring year 10 students who are struggling with Maths. This role at school and my job at **Contact Detail Removed** has given me a broad spectrum of skills, experience and understanding of a student's individual learning needs.

Tutoring Approach:

When tutoring the student I will ask them at first what they want to learn and what they feel they need help with. I will then prepare material that I feel is relevant to their needs and ask them to buy any necessary books if the case is that they want to work towards a Music Theory Exam. Once in the tutor session I try to make the sessions as worthwhile as possible and make sure I have gotten through all the material that I am supposed to get through and also try to get ahead of the work that I have also prepared too. While working through the session I pick up on the learning style of the child and apply this to the way that I teach them, for example if the child is a visual learner I will include mind maps and other ways that I feel will benefit them and make them feel like they will remember the work we have gone though in the session.
