Personal Description:
I studied guitar and saxophone at university, including doing a Master's Degree in guitar performance, I'm now doing a PhD in the ergonomics of playing guitar. I've gigged in various bands and done many solo concerts. Currently I'm performing with The Blox (a tribute to Ian Dury and the Blockheads) but I still mainly perform solo.
Tutoring Experience:
I've been teaching since 1996, working with all levels and all ages. My students often tell me I'm patient, this is because I appreciate how hard it is to learn to play an instrument.
Tutoring Approach:
Playing music should be fun, but there is also a lot of repetition and observation involved. I've developed a teaching method that progresses logically, building on what was learned before and taking different approaches when necessary to suit the needs and struggles of the individual student.
