Information About Max - Marlow teacher

Personal Description:

Max is a professional musician and tutor based in Windsor, recently graduated with a First Class Bmus Honours degree from The Royal Welsh College Of Music and Drama (RWCMD). He has played all over the country in a wide range of events and venues such as in Ronnie Scotts Soho Jazz Club, The London Jazz Festival, The Vortex Jazz Club London, Londons New Years Day Parade, BBC Radio 2 and Cardiff Radio to name a few.

When Max began playing music he worked in pit bands playing for amateur dramatics groups, pop/rock bands and local Big Bands. After a few years of playing music Max then moved to a specialist performing arts school and was accepted into the junior department of the Trinity Guildhall School of Music where he stayed attended until accepted a partial scholarship to the RWCMD, graduating in July 2018.

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout his career Max has always been an educator and offers private tuition. Max aims to motivate and inspire his students, whilst teaching them the key skills to master the instrument. Max will travel to you to provide music lessons.

The bulk of Max's teaching experience is at DS School of Music in Monmouth, Wales, where he taught private 1:1 lessons, teaching over 800 lessons. Some of Max’s past teaching credentials are with The Original Jazz UK Summer School where he worked as an assistant tutor for 4 years. As well as occasional projects such as the Summer Schools Max taught weekly at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama's junior jazz department. Here a high standard of teaching ability is required to meet the expectations of the small jazz ensembles in this department.

Tutoring Approach:

Max has taught all music genres on the drum kit, piano and trumpet. He teaches students to read music, but places an equal importance on being able to learn music by ear. Max teaches all grades and see's it as a great structured way to progress on the instrument - however understands this is not what every student desires and is able to create pathways to learning and improving on your chosen instrument, custom to every students wishes.
