Personal Description:

My name is Matt . I am drummer and educator based in London for the past 24 years where I work freelance on London's thriving music scene as well as further afield in the UK and abroad. I have taught drums at many levels of ability and have private students on a regular basis.

Tutoring Experience:

1995-1997 Drum tutor and ensemble leader at Bradford Girls' Grammar School, West Yorkshire.

1995-1996 Drum tutor at Tameside College Of Technology, Greater Manchester.

2009-2010 Drum teacher at Drumtech London ( Tech Music Schools)

Private tutoring 1994- present

Tutoring Approach:

I am a passionate and dedicated musician and take pride in my work as a teacher. I am able to teach music that covers a wide range of musical styles and can give tailored help to students of all levels, ranging from beginners to more advanced and professional levels.
I encourage students to play both by ear and be able to read music. I am focused on developing basic technique and fundamentals of timekeeping, no matter what the style of music a student is passionate about. I am able to guide students through graded courses if necessary and prepare them for school concerts or public performances. I can work on a weekly or fortnightly lessons basis, depending on the students needs, and work from home in West London or can travel to a students house if within a ten mile distance of my home. I also offer online lessons via Zoom or Skype.
