Personal Description:

Hi - I'm Mark. A friendly, well seasoned music practitioner and teacher with nearly 20 years of industry experience. I teach from home, either in my recording studio or online via Zoom. My rates are competitive and geared towards value for money. Along with guitar I also teach bass and saxophone to grade 8 level.

Tutoring Experience:

10 plus years of experience teaching both children and adults from absolute beginners to college level, in schools and privately. Along-side music tuition I have run a very successful performing arts school for children, where many students have gone on to study music & performing arts vocationally. During my time as a tutor I have seen more that 200 private students through my door and even more through the performing arts school.

Tutoring Approach:

The reason we pick up an instrument to begin with is to have fun and to express ourselves. These are the core values in my tuition and is why it has been so successful. Yes, learning an instrument is hard work. It is a commitment. But that doesn't mean that it has to be laborious. My tuition sets out small achievable goals, marginal gains that accumulate into weekly, monthly and lifetime rewards.
