Personal Description:
I am Swiss born, I am a very experienced performing musician and teacher. I played for 20 years in the Opera of Zurich and was throughout the time a dedicated teacher for children and students up to the highest level. I have moved to London in summer 2011, working as a free-lance musician with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, BBC Concert Orchestra, and teaching at various schools and at home. I am also familiar with improvising skills and various non-classical music styles. I am a member of the Jazz Bands 'Ellington in Anticipation' and 'Trout Q'.
Tutoring Experience:
During my years in Switzerland I have always had a busy private teaching practice for younger pupils as well as amateur adult violinists and violists and I have been coaching string sections in school orchestras. Since I live in London I am teaching in schools and at the STP Junior Guildhall and I prepare my pupils for the ABRSM exams. I am also coaching chamber music groups and on request I am teaching non-classical music styles and improvisation.
Tutoring Approach:
I feel very strongly about sharing my passion for a wide variety of music and passing on my knowledge. With each individual student we will find out together in which ways I can best help to improve.

Among her strongest qualities as a teacher are her ability to make you feel confident and to make you notice your improvement- which give real motivation and satisfaction in your learning.
I chose Margrit on the basis of her experience and qualifications and I am delighted that she is also a very pleasant person, and great fun to learn with.
Margrit always tries hard to find suitable music for me that suit my particular needs and interests and sends me music files to play with which I find very helpful.
