Personal Description:
My name is Lucia and I am an Italian harpist based in London, with over seven years of teaching experience.
I have recently concluded my master's, graduating with Distinction from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where I studied under the tutelage of Gabriella Dall'Olio and Frances Kelly, generously supported by a TL scholarship.
Previously, I graduated with first class honours from Conservatorio di Como, Italy.
Besides teaching, I have solo, chamber and orchestral experience of many years.
I currently play with the Young Musicians' Symphony Orchestra and I have had the chance to perform at famous venues such as Wigmore Hall, Henry Wood Hall, St John's Smith Square and Cadogan Hall.
I won several national and international competitions, including a first prize scholarship in the 2015 Soroptimist Competition for Young Talents.
I was a finalist in the 2023 United Kingdom Harp Competition.
I have attended masterclasses with international harpists such as Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche, Judith Liber, Isabelle Perrin, Luisa Prandina, Park Stickney, Gwyneth Wentink and Fabrice Pierre.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching pedal and lever harp since I was seventeen, both privately and in music schools, having the chance to work with students of diversified levels and ages.
Before moving to the UK, I worked as harp teacher in two Italian music academies, Accademia Europea di Musica (Erba, Como) and Accademia al Santuario (Rho, Milan). Currently, I am a tutor at Chelsea Quavers Music School.
Due to the Covid pandemic, I have considerably improved and expanded my online teaching skills as well.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to adapt my approach according to each student's needs.
Whether you are willing to learn the harp for fun or in preparation towards grade exams, I will do my best to help you throughout your journey into the wonderful harp world by creating personalised practice plans.
I can teach in different languages (English, Italian, French and Spanish).
