Information About Leo - Peckham teacher

Personal Description:

I am a guitarist and singer in a London based band. We're signed to a major label and are presently on our third album. We're been round the world on tour and continue to do so. I feel incredibly lucky to get to travel the world and do what I love most - playing music and connecting with people. I am however looking to get into Guitar teaching as a side job - it's something I've done a bit of and get great pleasure out of seeing a fellow guitarist grow.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught family friends for fun. I am actually a non theory based guitarist which is unusual. I have been playing for 25 years and truly believe that theory is not nessecary to having a wonderful understanding, feel and passion for the guitar. I believe that theory can get in the way of having 'feel' for the guitar and developing your ear and own understanding. It certainly has not got in the way of my guitar playing.

Tutoring Approach:

In my lessons the key always is to make them feel fun and relaxed. I want my pupils to not feel under any pressure at all. Firstly I will teach the basics - simple chords and hand positions. Then as we go on I'll let you bring in music of your choice to learn. I find that learning songs you love is a great way to get into it - and above all else it's fun.
