Personal Description:

I am an experienced musician & have been teaching guitar for over 30 years. During that period I have played in various bands throughout the country and am currently playing acoustic guitar & singing solo. I am qualified in music theory ABRSM Grade 6.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for over 30 years. I find teaching on a one-to-one basis is the most productive, although ocassionally I teach more than one student at a time. Many of my students have gone on to form bands and make a living playing guitar.

Tutoring Approach:

I hope to inspire students by teaching them the music they love which creates the enthusiasm to want to practice, which in turn, brings the desired results.
I usually teach on a one-to-one basis, although I can do groups if required.
I cover most contemporary styles, and find these days, that most of my students want me to help them work out how to play songs of their choice. From Metallica to Taylor Swift, The Beatles & Stones to Joni Mitchell & Ed Sheeran & everything in between. Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of my students.
I am based in Hockley. I can call to your house at a small extra fee to cover time & travel expenses. Cost dependent on distance. Now due to Coronavirus restrictions I offer online lessons with FaceTime, Skype and Zoom.
