Information About Kanan - Salisbury teacher

Personal Description:

I have been playing classical guitar since the age of 5 and studied at The Royal Academy of Music, The Academy of Contemporary Music, and Redlands Guitar Workshop, and also studied under Robert Wetzel of The Odeon Guitar Duo. As well as classical training, I have played in several bands, playing Blues, Rock & Roll, Folk, Jazz, and Funk, as well as writing original compositions for my current band, BOMBS (**Web Address Removed**).

Tutoring Experience:

I've taught guitar for 10 years, and have had a wonderful mix of students of all ages and abilities, from 6 year old beginners to 54 year old classical guitarists.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to try and make music fun. I believe that if you want lessons, you already have a reason to play, and I like to try to cater for that. I find that if a student is playing something they enjoy, then they will practice in their own time and progress- its my job to work in bits of technique etc. around that. Every student is different, and I try to adapt my teaching style around the needs of each individual student. I'm happy to teach all styles, all ages, and all levels of ability, on acoustic or electric guitar, as well as teach music theory, tablature, songwriting skills, and various other aspects of guitar.
