Information About Joshua - Hove teacher

Personal Description:

Hi everyone, my name is Josh. I currently have over 15 years experience playing guitar playing in a range of styles such as, rock, blues, funk, soul, pop, RnB, country and acoustic. I am studying my Masters at WaterBear in Brighton, this college focuses on musicians help build their careers in the industry and is partnered with Falmouth University.

I achieved my RockSchool Grade 8 in guitar back in 2014. and have plenty of performance experience with original projects, musicals and function bands. This means my Music theory is of high standard and can teach topics such as ear training, sight reading, Circle of 5ths, scale and chord theory and songwriting skills and much more.

Tutoring Experience:

My experience has been with family friends and kids teaching mostly simple acoustic songs. I took a module in teaching while studying at BIMM and got a 2:1 overall. Aside from that, I have casually taught friends basic chords. Here I am looking to push myself and branch into more advanced ideas for those looking to go down that route.

Tutoring Approach:

With the pandemic still going on, we will be having our lessons online using Zoom. (Despite what my info says) With this we will be able to communicate safely and clearly over video calls, as well as providing visual notes of the topic using the screen share function. Be sure to be prepared and ready 5 minutes before the lesson.
