Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Joanna.
I’m a doctor living and working in London. I have been playing the flute for over fifteen years, having taken part in school, university and summer camp flute choirs, windbands and orchestras. I have had several successful students, and I really enjoy teaching music. I am DBS checked.

Tutoring Experience:

I have several years' worth of flute teaching experience, having taught throughout university in preparation for ABRSM exams. All of my students have achieved Merit or Distinction grade in their exams.

Qualifications:
ABRSM Diploma (Distinction)
ABRSM Grades 1-8.
ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory (Distinction)
GCSE Music (A*)

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons are geared towards ABRSM exams (scales, pieces, sight-reading, and aural tests), but I will happily teach other exam boards or just learning for fun! I regularly include popular music duets in my lessons.

I usually recommend 30-45 minute lessons for beginners and intermediates, at a rate of £20 for 30 minutes. Available to teach online or in person in Stockwell.

Note: due to my work schedule I am looking to take on 1-2 new students either online or who live locally to me (near Stockwell), and may need to be flexible with lesson dates due to occasional evening shift commitments.
