Personal Description:
I am trained in classical and operatic singing, but also have experience singing with rock/funk/jazz bands. I have been singing professionally as a soloist and chorister in the UK and Europe 5 years, including for the State Opera Bulgaria between 2017-1018. Roles include Antonia from The Man of La Mancha (national tour, Bulgarian State Opera Ruse), Barbarina: Le Nozze di Figaro (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Germany), Morgana: Alcina, Musetta: La Boheme, and Pamina: Die Zauberflöte. This summer I will be singing the title role of @Emele with Oxfordshire Contemporary Opera and will be making my debut as artistic director for Opera Alumnus's summer production of Dido and Aeneas. I regularly sing recitals, solos for choral societies nationwide and have been developing my own music sessions for care homes during lockdown. I hold a BAhons in Music Performance from Coventry University and a PGDip. in Vocal and Operatic Studies from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I was a 2015 Weingarten scholarship winner which led to me studying at the Liszt Academy in Budapest.
Tutoring Experience:
I love teaching, and have experience of all age groups and all genres, ranging from classical, opera, musicals, jazz, rock, pop and folk.
Tutoring Approach:
Whether you are preparing to audition for music college or university, or just want to have some fun while building your confidence and being expressive, I can help! Music is our way of connecting with our emotions, and it can improve physical, emotional and mental well-being. Vocal health is at the front of my teaching, and I teach students how to care for their voices and sing in a healthy, natural way that shows off their individual, unique gift. I always make sure to put vocal health first and never push a student beyond their limitations before the voice has deveoped adequately. My primary goal is to make singing enjoyable. Where there is joy, there is a beauty of sound! I can help you find your true sound, and help you connect to the wealth of your personality and life experience that gives every individual their own unique voice.
