Personal Description:

I have a proven professional working background within the music/media and production profession. I have worked both as an artist and producer for over 18 years and this has given me the inside knowledge required when working with those who wish to undertake this profession as there own.I formerly lectured for south Birmingham college at btec level 3 to classes of approx 20 students a session.I have a 24 track digital studio run in conjunction with virtual software packages(LOGIC AND REASON) that gives me a virtually infinite number of digital tracks. I am familiar with various operating systems such as windows 98, 2000, xp, vista and Mac os, osx.

Tutoring Experience:

I believe myself to be successful in helping others to achieve there goal, I research the areas of my tutorial before I undertake the class to ensure that I pass on to my students the information they need to be confident professionals. One of my past students has gone on to be an accomplished artist with the group so solid crew. I have produced various documentaries that have included Health Promotion and Mental Health Research with promotional videos for community based business that has been both cultural and commercial. With the added area of general music video production for both new talent and event video promotions, I feel I have an all round knowledge base. My varied experiences help me to be highly competent in the tutorial of students from start to finish of the music business with the added knowledge of promotion and production. I have worked along side professionals such as James Brown from UB40, Bitty McLean, Apache Indian to name a few, producers woolie “award winning soundtrack for dumb and dumber” also bands such Steel Pulse, UB40, Reggae Revolution, B19, Sister Tree, H.I.M, Sheryl Ladly etc As a producer I have produced hip hop and rap groups such as infinite jewel and producer managed an indie rock group called shindig. My main genre is urban music; I have also worked in the field of, garage, hardcore, rock, jazz, soul, classical, pop, World music, any type of music I can cater for. I own both digital photography and video kits including lights filters etc.

Tutoring Approach:

EARTH PRODUCTIONS MUSIC PRODUCER/STUDIO ENGINEER/CAMERAMAN/TUTOR/MENTOR 2000 - 2007
Main duties undertaken within this post are to include Btec level 3 standard tutoring of students from the age of 16+ years. The preparation of students for music production and promotion within further education studies and the mentoring support of those completing the course, this includes small workshops for the disenfranchised and excluded pupils with behavioral problems from mainstream (-16) education with the commitment of reintegrating them into further education be it through audio and or video productions. Also included within the position is the production of music and media for the professional needs, this field also includes mixing , remixing and mastering clients work, this is to include video and audio editing requirements for advertising purposes, TV or radio. To provide sound, lighting and other technical support, To prepare and set up all spaces (including blue screen area) as required. Deliver all technical requirements for all audio and video as required. To discuss the technical needs for location shoots and other technical team members. Working unsupervised, de-rigging and moving equipment as required before, during or after a location or in house shoots, Ensuring that equipment cables used in working areas are deployed in a clean, orderly and safe condition in accordance to Health and Safety procedures and to take appropriate care of all such items. Ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices are followed at all times. Regular maintenance and P.A.T. (Portable Appliance Testing) of all video and studio equipment as required. Maintenance of both studios 1 and 2 and the video editing suite. Keeping up to date with technical advances and practices related to the job role. To deliver work within budget, agreed timescales and targets. Operating in accordance with, health and safety, equal opportunities and other practices, policies and procedures.

The main duties for the position were to include tutoring of various specialist music programmes such as cubase audio vst for the benefit of professional and amateur musicians alike. The position also included the added need to be a support network to new up and coming talent.
