Information About Jake - Bath teacher

Personal Description:

My name is Jake , I have been teaching for 12 months now and I am getting to grips quickly with my own ability in playing instruments and being able to help others learn to pick up the instrument and turn it into a hobby and hopefully a profession. I have been playing guitar for 6 years and have a grade 8 certificate. I also can teach drums to grade 6 and bass guitar to grade 6, as well as musical theory up to grade 6, on the side of my instrument lessons if they are required for a grade exam or anything other that requires theory.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for 1 year and have come to terms with efficiently helping others, regardless of learning speed or current technical ability. I have also received lessons in the past to help me learn how to be a guitar teacher, which I took this knowledge and applied it to teaching Bass guitar and Drum kit.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are based around a time slot of 30 minutes, 60 minutes or 120 minutes. For first time players I make sure to spend some time teaching the student the key aspects of the instrument in question and teach them how to play simple melodies/beats to start them off and get them to grips with the instrument so they can hopefully get a feel for the instrument in order to progress with learning. For those who have played already I make sure I give them lessons based on my view of their ability and teach them songs, grades or theory in the lesson, then make sure they are set something slightly above their ability to allow them to progress in terms of their ability and improve themselves, this given as non-compulsory homework to practice in their own time, whenever is best for them
