Personal Description:

Hi There! My name is Holly, and I am a 24 year old entrepreneur with an absolute passion for music! I originally learnt the Viola to Grade 8 distinction level, and have familiarised myself well with the Violin and Piano, and in more recent years I have been studying the Oboe. I am also currently working part-time towards an Undergraduate degree in Music with the OCA.

I am currently teaching all classes online via Zoom, and charge £30 for an hours lesson, or £15 for half an hour.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught students privately for 2 years in my local area, but due to the pandemic in 2020 I am now taking online clients from all areas.

I previously played the Viola for Surrey County Youth Orchestra (SCYO), leading the Viola section during their tour in France, and have played with locally run Guildford Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO). I also played Viola for the debut of The Freedom Game Opera at the Royal Albert Hall in London. I have also had tuition at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich.

I have run a local Girlguiding unit for 3 years, so I am very capable with children from the age of 5 onwards, and I am DBS Certified.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to teach alongside the ABRSM Grading system as it is what I am most familiar with, however if you are just wanting some guidance lessons based on your current ability I can be very flexible - my main intention is the enjoyment of my students and getting them to find their own enjoyment with the practice, as this is what will ultimately encourage good playing!
