Personal Description:

I offer specialised training in the Indian Carnatic (South Indian Classical) style Violin to beginners, from basic to advanced levels. My focus is towards building a strong foundation which is extremely important in any form of music. I teach for ages between 4 to 15. On exceptional cases I might consider teaching above this age. I am of an Indian origin and have spent my entire childhood in India. India is very rich in arts and music, and one can find various flavors of music. I have learnt music from the age of 7 at "Guruguha Gana Vidyala", which is based in Kolkata (East India). And I am currently a disciple of Shri Mysore Nagaraj. My specialization is in Indian Carnatic Violin, which is very popular in Southern part of India.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching Violin for over 10 years, giving my students a complete feel of what Carnatic Music is all about. In the process of teaching Violin, I inculcate lot of concepts of Indian Classical Music, which boosts a lot of confidence for my students.

Tutoring Approach:

I love music, teaching and seeing the next generation of musician excel. My students enjoy engaging and fun lessons.

From Govindan (5/5): Hariharan is a great Violin Tutor, I am learning Indian Classical (Carnatic style) and he is absolutely brilliant. I do one lesson per week on Sundays and he provides enough material for me to practice on a regular basis. He is meticulous in providing notes to assist with practice and provides lots of encouragement to the students.

I would recommend Hariharan to anyone who is genuinely keen to learn violin.
