I am friendly and good humoured teacher. I am empathetic with all abilities and am keen to help people enjoy music.
I have a Music degree and have many years experience in classical and popular music
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught violin,viola, cello, guitar and piano for the last 10 years full time. I run my own small music school and have a string group of 10 players who rehearse each week.
I can teach to grade 8 and have a 100% pass rate over 10 years of exams with Trinity and ABRSM.
Tutoring Approach:
I am an enthusiastic music teacher, always willing to help with other peoples understanding of music and their instrument.
I can work on pupils creative abilities as well as learning their instrument,
I work on the correct posture and technique as well as musical expression once this is established.
I am easy going but do obtain progression and results from pupils.

From Iain (/5): Very Patient and understanding. We have had three sessions all via zoom which has had major problems but I can't fault Graham in his encouragement. He has given me some very sound advice and pointed out issues about my playing (or rather attempting to play) which make perfect sense. I am very much looking forward to having sessions "in the flesh" because I am sure there is a lot more I can learn!

From Acacia (/5): Picking up a violin again after 33 years was nerve-wracking but Graham was relaxed and put me at ease immediately. He spent the first 20 minutes fixing a few issues with my violin,but allowed my lesson to over run by 20 mins to compensate. Thoroughly looking forward to my next lesson!

From Guy (/5): Only had one lesson as he didn’t seem to show any interest in wanting me to come back. This presumably because I wasn’t intending on learning the traditional grading. He seemed nice just perhaps a waste of both of our times as he didn’t seem too interested in this more informal learnig. (Maybe put this on your profile)
Reply from: Graham: Thanks for the feedback although I'm quite surprised by the comments. We covered the basics of chords and you could attempt half of a song by the end of the lesson, and seemed fine throughout
