I have been playing my instrument since the age of 16 and have been fully invested into music ever since then. I have a deep passion for all things music related. I am currently early in my career as a professional performer and would be delighted to receive students.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had extensive experience with specific schools of classical practise pertaining to both music theory/aural skills and Guitar.

I have experience with all well established classical guitar methods such as Tarrega's and Giuliani's methods and books such as Scott Tennant's pumping nylon. I am comfortable teaching ABRSM guitar grades above grade three and can take students through these happily. Whatever your guitar related learning needs are I am confident I will be able to help you.

I am comfortable teaching all levels of music theory related endeavours. I can teach aural skills from complete beginner to advanced. I am comfortable teaching all grades of ABRSM music theory and have fun doing so.

I am comfortable teaching composition at a basic level and I am also comfortable teaching period composition especially. I can however give grounding and tuition in contemporary composition of certain kinds, particularly French contemporary composition.

I am also comfortable teaching classical improvisation - both contemporary and period - to a player of any instrument, this however is quite advanced and there are no traditional routes of learning for it - unless you are an organist. A good idea if you would like to study something complimentary to composition.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a tutor who works best with students who have a real interest in music or who are motivated to attain something specific. I put heavy emphasis on making sure students fundamentally understand concepts rather than just repeating back what has been taught. This can lead to music written specifically for the student to address certain problem if they are a guitarist. off script testing and exercises made specifically for the student if they are learning the theoretical side of music.

I will always do my best to adapt my approach individually for the student and get them moving forward.
