Personal Description:
Georgia is an enthusiastic, patient and knowledgeable music tutor, workshop leader and accomplished singer. She successfully completed her Masters Degree in Jazz Vocal Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in June 2021, having previously studied at the University of Southampton and The BRIT School For Performing Arts & Technology. Whilst specialising in Jazz, Georgia has experience performing in projects of many styles such as pop, soul, rock and musical theatre. She has also lead her own bands and is a keen songwriter.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience working with students from a range of abilities. From implementing vocal warm ups for individuals and small groups in mainstream secondary schools, to teaching piano skills in 1-1 lessons, to leading drumming workshops and using Open Orchestra's musical software Clarion with students with special needs.
Tutoring Approach:
Singing Lessons
I teach vocals from beginners to advanced age 7 and up. I believe that singing regularly can not only help develop technical skills but also boost confidence, improve mental health.
Lessons include:
Warm- up exercises
Vocal technique such as breath control and learning to engage core muscles.
Performance skills, building confidence to sing in front of an audience.
Gaining experience within a variety of styles and genres.
Applying music theory to practice.
Option of working towards graded exams.
Option of learning songwriting.
Option of learning to improvise.
Piano Lessons
I teach piano from beginner to intermedia**Contact Detail Removed**vel. I make piano lessons fun and engaging and believes that regular piano practice can build cognitive skills.
Lessons include:
Learning to read music.
Good posture & technique.
Scales and arpeggios.
Exposure to different styles such as classical, jazz and pop.
Option of working towards graded exams.
