Personal Description:

ONLINE AND IN-PERSON LESSONS. Singing/Piano Teacher from Ireland, living in Glasgow, ready to help you with your voice/playing in a way that suits you.

Please note: £30 ~ 45 minu**Contact Detail Removed**sson rather than for an hour.

To date I have a lot of experience in vocal teaching of all levels and have developed a specific interest in teaching beginner piano using a wide variety of methods depending on your individual needs. Regardless of how good or bad you believe you are there is always a way to work for you and it's my job to find out how!

I started taking classical singing lessons since the age of 13 followed by piano lessons a couple years later. Throughout my teenage years I enjoyed a variety of performing experience be it with choirs, concerts or local productions of musicals such as West Side Story where I played Tony or Phantom of the Opera where I was The Phantom. After achieving distinction in classical singing and musical theater at grade 8 I applied to do my Bachelors of Music in Ireland. Throughout my undergraduate degree I have sang roles in a variety of Operas and Oratorios, given recitals singing English, French, Italian and German and been soloist in choral performances. I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in music specializing in teaching and was recipient of a special award for the highest teaching mark in my year. I am currently doing a two year Masters degree in vocal performance in the Royal Conservatory of Scotland.

Tutoring Experience:

I am very fortunate to have had an array of teaching experience so far in my career including:

Teaching one to one lessons in music schools, privately and most recently in the prestigious performing arts academy- 'French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts' in New York

Individual students as part of my undergraduate degree where lessons were supervised by Conservatory teachers and regular feedback was given.

Group singing lessons focusing on technique, ensemble and performance preparation.

Conducting choir rehearsals for choral societies in a variety of musical styles.

Teaching piano privately and in music schools.

Accompanying students in performances.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal as a teacher is to provide you with the tools necessary to understand and develop in a safe and enjoyable way. I truly aspire to make everyone feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. It is not possible to make good music in any environment that is not relaxed.

This will be done by:

Understanding what it is you want from your lessons.

Choosing music together that you like and is appropriate for you.

Creating exercises to warm up, expand and develop you.

And above all, have fun while doing so.

My vocal technique comes from the Bel Canto style of singing and is best suited to Classical, Musical Theater and Operatic singing. Though its core principals can be applied to all genres, hence I have also successfully worked with pop and Jazz singers before and would be more than happy to do so again.

I studied piano throughout my four year undergraduate degree and have developed a holistic approach which suits individual students.

I offer lessons to singers from beginner (including if you have never sang a note), intermediate and advanced.

Given the nature of singing I offer lessons to those 10 years and over.

I offer piano lessons to beginners from the age of 8.
