Personal Description:

My name is Edmund , and I am a violin/viola teacher and violinist. I started learning violin with the Suzuki Method in 2003, and I studied with Jane Panter. I went on to study Music with a Focus on Performance at Bangor University under Rosie Skelton and Iwan Llewelyn-Jones, graduating in 2020. I trained to teach with the Suzuki Method with the British Suzuki Music Association from 2021 until 2022, and I'm a qualified level 1 Suzuki teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to violin tuition is heavily influenced by the Suzuki method, and while I do pay attention to all aspects of musicianship I am especially interested in ensuring that my students have good posture. This is because although on the face of it posture doesn't seem to have much of an effect, but in my experience a better posture invariably makes a better sound, and additionally massively increases comfort while playing. I am especially interested in preventing musicians' injuries such as repetitive strain injury, carpal tunnel syndrome and other similar injuries.
