BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Poland, Dominika Maszczyńska performs on a variety of keyboard instruments including fortepiano and harpsichord as well as modern piano. She graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music (2021) and The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.

Dominika won the RCM Historical Performance Competition and the Century Fund Prize. She was a semi finalist of the prestigious Musica Antiqua Competition in Bruges (2019) and “Beethoven in his time” competition in Siegburg (2021). Dominika was awarded the Charles Colt Scholarship in 2019.

As both a soloist and continuo player, Dominika has performed with various orchestras including The Royal College of Music Baroque Orchestra, The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra. In August 2022, she performed the Piano Concerto no. 5 by Beethoven with the Volantes Orchestra, conducted by renowned Jos van Immerseel.

In 2020, she made recordings for Erddig/National Trust on the original Broadwood square piano and Collard & Collard piano from 1876. An experienced performer, she has played numerous concerts in different countries across Europe, including performances on original instruments from the renowned Cobbe Collection, in the Horniman Museum and in the RCM Museum.

Besides early music repertoire, she is also interested in exploring contemporary music written for period instruments. In 2021, she performed the Jazz Harpsichord Concerto by the late Joseph Horovitz. In preparation for this concert in the Britten Theatre, London, she collaborated with the composer himself.

Dominika has been awarded the Fellowship in Historical Keyboards at the Royal College of Music for three consecutive years, 2020-2023.

Her recent performances include a European tour with the EEEmerging+ Academy Orchestra led by Ophélie Gaillard and concerts at the International Festival of Renaissance and Baroque Music “Misiones de Chiquitos” in Bolivia with the RCM Baroque Orchestra and the Bolivian choir Arakaendar, led by Ashley Solomon.
