Personal Description:
Experienced teacher of piano and music theory. I studied at the RNCM and Oxford University, where I studied Music with an Organ Scholarship. I am also an accompanist, organist and conductor.
Tutoring Experience:
I have a busy private studio in Manchester with many child and adult learners. I usually teach 1:1 from age 8 to adult. My students have found success in music exams (ABRSM). I was a classroom teacher and the main school accompanist for an independent school. I helped many students 1:1 ahead of their practical (ABRSM) and academic (GCSE and IB) exams.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons will develop your knowledge of appropriate classical repertoire, exercises to build finger strength through technical practise, and we will develop other skills such as sight-reading, aural, and transposition, as required. Absolute beginners will be taken through an introductory course that includes basic notation and harmony.
