Information About Clare - Newcastle teacher

Personal Description:

Music has been part of my life since I was eight years old, beginning with the piano and progressing onto the violin and the guitar. This was then followed by my key passion for the drums which led to studying at Edinburgh College followed by a degree in Contemporary and Popular Music at Newcastle University. This gave me a wide range of knowledge and appreciation for different styles of music. I am incredibly passionate about music and the way it unites people globally in a universal language. I play in a church on a regular basis and have played in several bands.

Tutoring Experience:

I have teaching experience with adults and children, including teaching the Rockschool Graded Books and music to learn just for fun.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a unique teaching approach whereby as far as possible I teach drumming by ear first and foremost and use notation as a guide. Teaching in this way means that as a learner you can sit behind the drum-kit and begin playing from your first lesson. I am a keen believer that learning should be enjoyable and My style means that I can adapt my teaching methods to meet your individual needs.
