Information About Clara - Glasgow teacher

Personal Description:

I am a passionate and dynamic teacher. Always learning and trying to improve in every field to give the most of myself to my students. I have studies on music therapy and children psychology and I am currently studying the Psychology degree at the open University.

I am a freelance oboist and cor anglais and I have played with many orchestras and ensembles around Uk and the world such as SCO (Scottish Chamber Orchestra),RSNO (Royal Scottish National Orchestra),BBC SSO (BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra), Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet ,Teatro Massimo Bellini, Orchestra Academy China, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra or Red Note.

I hold the spanish professional degree on piano which equals an ABRSM diploma.

Tutoring Experience:

I teach oboe, cor anglais, reed making, recorder and piano.

I have been teaching for almost 10 years privately and in many different institutions. I have worked for Renfrewshire Council, St. Aloysius College, Stewart's Melville College and Sistema Scotland and covered all ages levels and learning stages. I am also the oboe teacher of the musical theater department at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe music is a fundamental pilar for everyone's education, no matter if you want to have it as a career or as a hobby. Music helps you develop confidence, team work ethic, coordination, listening skills, discipline, etc. and these are qualities applicable to every life aspect.

I am student-centered. The lessons are tailored to each individual; personalised to their goals, preferences or exam requeriments.

I try to teach my student to "learn how to learn" . I promote the student`s authonomy and confidence from a fun and challenging perspective. We will work on technical and musical aspects without forgetting the joy of simply play.

I am bilingual in Spanish and English and I will be happy to deliver the lessons in either of those languages.
