Personal Description:

At the start of the year, I achieved a distinction in my Music Theatre Masters from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Since graduating, I have been working across both Sheffield and London as a freelance musician and actor, most recently filming a music video for Global Folk Collective, Mishra. During my masters, I also collaborated with tap dancer Jess Murray on a project which explored the relationship between tap dancing and scat singing through free improvisation. Prior to attending drama school, I studied music at the University of Sheffield, specialising in jazz vocals. During my time at Sheffield, I also performed in a number of musicals such as Chicago, the Addams Family and The Producers. Working for several years as a freelance singer, I performed in a range of capacities, with big bands, smaller jazz ensembles and function bands, performing at venues such as the award-winning Jazz at the Lescar.
My aim is to ensure that all of my students are given the opportunity to not only find their unique voice, but to feel empowered to use, challenge and develop it to its fullest potential. I am incredibly passionate about music and helping others access the art-form and am always excited to teach new students!

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught students from 5 years old to 60, and specialise in musical theatre, jazz, and free improvisation. I am also able to offer guidance in audition prep, self-tapes, drama school applications and overcoming vocal trauma. To compliment my teaching, I also work with students to develop achievable and effective practice routines which empower them to take ownership over their unique vocal development and journey.
I believe very strongly that people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities should have access to musical education. As a result, I have also worked with European Youth Summer Music as a vocal coach and choir leader for the junior course and, during my undergraduate course, worked with the Music Charity Under the Stars, which creates musical opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are engaging, accessible and fun, creating a space where students are free to make mistakes, experiment and challenge themselves without judgement. The lessons are tailored to the interests of the student, whether that be taking grades, learning their favourite songs, or fine-tuning techniques.
The focus of the first lesson will be getting to know each other, we'll have a chat about your favourite artists, hobbies, experience to date and goals for the lessons. This allows me to ensure that you are getting the most out of the lessons moving forwards. If you’ve never had a singing lesson before, don’t worry! We’ll have a sing through some fun songs and spend time exploring your voice and the basics of singing. More experienced students will be asked to bring a song to the session that they have worked on previously, to enable me to assess their current abilities and vocal style.

For students under the age of 13, a weekly, 30-minu**Contact Detail Removed**sson is ideal. For older students, the full hour is recommended. I am willing to travel up to 5km for a lesson, or students are welcome to come to my house where she have a keyboard.
