Personal Description:

I first started playing the drums at the age of 19. After going to my first ever gig, to see the band Less than Jake, it was the sound of the drums that really blew me away, and that kicked off my enthusiasm and passion for wanting to know about everything drum-related!

I brought my first kit off a friend and after a couple of months learning how to play by myself, I soon realised I needed some guidance in the form of drum lessons to help me progress in the right direction. After two years of priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons, my love for drumming was growing and I signed up to a one-year Diploma in Popular Music Performance at the highly renowned Drumtech. I learnt the correct techniques and theory of drumming, as well as learning how to play with other musicians.

In 2006, I joined my first band Monster Fight. We played on the London circuit, in venues such as the Metro Bar, Bull and Gate, Purple Turtle etc. We also had one of our songs played and featured on Total Rock Radio.

​I left the band around 2010 and have played in various genre bands since, gaining a lot of valuable experience as a drummer and musician. In 2012, I was one of the lucky people to be selected to perform as a volunteer drummer at the opening and closing Olympic Ceremonies, this was a once-in-a-lifetime, amazing experience!

​Drumming is my passion, and I am equally passionate about bringing music into the lives of my students.

My students get nothing but the best drum lessons,which help them achieve their dreams as a drummer and musician.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since September 2021, and so far I have three students. I have wanted to teach for a long time, and I am pleased that now I have started to follow my dream.

Even though I have only been teaching for a short while, I have over 20 years experience and knowledge of playing the drums which I pass onto my students. I care about my students, I want what is best for them and under my tuition they will progress and achieve their goals, whether that is doing grades, playing along to favorite songs, improving their technique/reading etc.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide on-to-one drum lessons in Chelmsford, Essex as well as surrounding areas.

I base my lessons on what my students want to learn whilst also passing on the knowledge I have gained from over 20 years of playing.

The lessons are taught in a fun and enjoyable way to ensure my students feel comfortable, I build a lesson plan unique to my students, always considering their goals and aspirations.

As a teacher, I encourage regular practice, showing my students how to practice efficiently, so they know exactly how and what to practice outside of lessons.

Below are the areas of drumming I feel are essential for students to develop:

Hand and foot technique: good technique enables the student to play the drums effectively

Reading: being able to read drum notation helps students to progress much faster, also if students wish to do drum grades, it is a requirement they are able to read

Playing to music/favorite songs: This is very important as the student not only learns to play the music they like, they also develop playing skills that will enable them to play in their own bands.
