Personal Description:

I have 14 years of experience as a professional singer/songwriter and extensive experience teaching and mentoring people of all ages, abilities, and walks of life. I have toured in both the UK and the USA, including a stint in Nashville where I worked on a number of co-writing projects. I have experience with a variety of genres both as a solo artist and as part of a band.

I also play guitar, Keyboard and I am currently learning to play the cello

Tutoring Experience:

I have 12 years of teaching experience, having taught vocals, guitar and songwriting workshops (and now also teach beginners piano) to a variety of age ranges (7-60) and skill levels (Beginner to advanced). I also have a BA hons in Commercial music (mixture of music business, music performance & songwriting and music technology).

I also have experience as musical director for a charity choir for people with Invisible illnesses. I have extensive experience teaching students with both mental, physical and learning conditions/disabilities.

I now also have my own small music studio in which I can provide basic recordings/demos for students on request (this can include mixing and mastering) this is useful for those needing demos for auditions or wanting to record songwriting projects.

Tutoring Approach:

It's always been my belief that singing and learning to express ourselves through music can make an incredible difference to a person's life, be it an outlet for their emotions, a way to build their confidence, being more aware of their own body and how they can use it in a positive way, or just for sheer enjoyment.

I tailor my lessons to each student's skill level, needs and goals and work very closely with what they would like to get out of it. I love seeing my students walk away from a session with a smile on their face. Especially when they have achieved another goal.

I'm happy to work with both males and females, at any age (min age 8) and at a frequency and pace that suits the student.

CORONAVIRUS PROTOCOL:
I have a client space separate from my house that is sterilised between each student and used solely for use during sessions (the room is well ventilated during and after each session). hand sanitizer is used and provided for students should they need it. Students do not have to wear masks or visors but are welcome to do so if they wish.
