Personal Description:
I have a BMus degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London and Licentiate of Royal Academy of Music teaching diploma (LRAM).
In addition to teaching, I am an active musician and a member of the Tamora string quartet and Amor quintet. I have made numerous tv appearances, most recently with Muse on the jools holland show, and play freelance with various orchestras including the guildford philharmonic orchestra.
Tutoring Experience:
I currently hold teaching positions at Prior's field school and Guildford county school. I have 15 years teaching experience and in this times have successfully entered hundreds of pupils for ABRSM exams. I have also successfully prepared pupils for scholarships auditions at private schools.
Tutoring Approach:
I don't believe in holding pupils back if they are keen to progress and will never refuse to let them try to achieve something if they are committed to it. I think grade exams provide a good basis for learning and can add a sense of achievement, though I am also happy for pupils not to do these if they prefer.
Above all I believe in encouraging students whilst also trying to get the best out them.
