Personal Description:

I am a very enthusiastic violin teacher who has worked professionally in the music industry as a session violinist, composer and solo recording artist who has gigged internationally.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught in London & Gloucestershire both as a peripatetic & private teacher over the last 20 years. Now based full time in Gloucestershire I have been teaching locally for 12 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I taylor lessons very carefully to suit each individual pupil. From classical music through to jigs, jazz or world music,

My pupils range in age from 4 to 75 from beginners to advanced.

I work with the ABRSM Grade system and Trinity Scottish Syllabus. 80% of my pupils have achieved Distinction and Merit in Grade 1 - 8 Violin and Grade 1 - 5 Theory of Music exams.

For those pupils who wish to perform I encourage participation in The Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts where pupils have thrived happily and won cups and medals. I also hold an annual Christmas Concert. It is a great joy for me to see all the amazing performances, many students choosing to sing as well as play!
