Personal Description:

I am a classical musician and teacher, who as a pianist has performed in numerous venues including the Wigmore Hall, and enjoyed concerto competition success leading to performances in both the UK and Poland. I have completed Bachelor studies in Classical Piano Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and am about to complete Master studies at the Royal Academy of Music. I am an engaged, attentive and caring teacher who works tirelessly to give my students what they need from me.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked with children from the age of 4 to 17 and with adults aged 50 and over, encompassing all levels and abilities. Students have enjoyed much success in festivals, competitions and music exams, ranging from grade 1 level to the ARSM diploma.

I have attended numerous teaching courses at the Guildhall School, the Royal Academy of Music, the ABRSM teacher conference, the EPTA-ABRSM teacher development days, and an Elena Cobb teacher training day. On these courses I have learned from leading pedagogues such as Paul Harris, Karen Marshall, Helen Krizos, Nicola Eimer, Anthony Williams and Irina Gorin.

Tutoring Approach:

I always take the age, level and needs of the student into account. I try always to advocate good musicianship, and good physical piano playing habits right from the beginning, especially if it is with a young child, because their future is very uncertain. I incorporate many fun games which help them to learn how to use their arms, wrists and hands correctly and efficiently at the piano. I make up fun stories with them to help them to understand things such as rhythms, clefs, time signatures etc. Communication with parents is crucial to my work; I try to encourage parents to create a musically nurturing environment at home to help with the child's progress.

With older, adult students, I may use some of the above described approaches, but I will of course always pay close attention to what an adult student wants to get out of the lessons. Adults mostly have jobs and/or children to manage and my patience and open-mindedness makes me an ideal teacher for such adults.

I combine a serious and professional approach with great care and respect for each pupil and their needs. If you want to request the help of someone who offers this kind of guidance then please, get in touch!
