Personal Description:
I started playing music when I was 17 years old and I quickly learned that what I wanted to do with my life was to play music and to share the gift of music with other people. I left my career path towards the sciences and started working towards going to university to study music. I went to the University of Liverpool and graduated with a degree in Classical Music and then completed a Masters Degree in Classical Music with a speciality in composition. I have played with numerous groups including orchestras, concert bands, brass bands, big bands and small jazz ensembles.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught for a Saturday morning music school where I taught brass, piano and composition. I have taught piano, trumpet, cornet, trombone, baritone horn, composition and orchestration.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to music tuition is tailored to each individual student and I always take into account and consider individual needs and circumstances. I believe that music should be fun and the students should always be enjoying themselves and not just feeling that they are going through the motions to learn an instrument. Music is a gift and I want to share that gift with as many different people as I can.
