Personal Description:
A mother of two girls who speak Cantonese fluently at home as my husband is from Hong Kong, so the use at home encourages fluent Cantonese. I have lived and worked in Hong Kong for 10 years so my expertise is in spoken Cantonese or teaching Cantonese speakers fluent use of English.

Taught English to Cantonese speakers for 10 years in Hong Kong in tutorial schools.

From Imogen (/5): Yat-chen is fab. I have been loving my lessons with her. She's patient, encouraging and has tailored the lessons to meet my aims (to converse with partners' family members). I'd really struggled to learn Cantonese from apps and study books before finding Yat-chen. I've been really grateful for her teaching style and would absolutely recommend her to anyone hoping to learn Cantonese!

From Matthew (/5): Had amazing lessons with Yat for myself and wife. The lessons were brilliant, we were speaking Cantonese by the end of our first lesson. The lessons were really well prepared and always fitted into how we learnt and what we wanted to learn. Not only did we learn the language, which we used when we went to Hong Kong, but we also learnt about the culture and how you interact with people from Hong Kong. Yat was patient with us and so positive, we had a brilliant experience, highly recommend her. Thanks Matthew & Suzanne

From Denise (/5): After three lessons with Yat-chen, my grandma has commented that my Cantonese has improved so much! It's nice to get a summary after the lesson of words I need to practise for the next week. Yat-chen is very encouraging and has given me some good tips to improve my use of the language quickly.
