Personal Description:

I am a Spanish national and have lived in Shropshire working as a languages teacher for the past 26 years. I am married and have 3 children. As a Secondary School teacher, I have extensive experience in preparing students for Spanish and French examinations at all levels and have been an examiner for 23 years working for examining bodies including Edexcel, AQA, OCR and WJEC.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in Secondary Schools, Sixth Form Colleges and Adult Education Centres. Currently, I work at an independent school in Shropshire, in its Modern Foreign Languages department teaching Spanish. Outside of this, I teach a number of students privately in either one-to-one lessons or in small groups helping them to achieve their goals.

Teaching Approach:

I believe in creating a relaxed yet challenging atmosphere. For exam students my thorough understanding of the curriculum and what examiners are looking for when awarding marks allows me to help my students navigate the demands of the new GCSE qualifications. I build student confidence and help them to master the necessary grammar together with the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). Of course, I ensure my students receive plenty of exam paper practice too, teaching them techniques for the best results. For non-assessed students, I offer a tailor-made programme based on their learning requirements and personal goals (conversational, business, holiday, etc.).
