Hi everyone! 안녕하세요 여러분, 반갑습니다!
I am a native Korean tutor Subin from Seoul, currently living in London. Learning how to read Korean Hangeul (한글) is actually very easy if you remember the simple principles. But to speak, listen and write Korean well, practicing with a native speaker is very important! As an English learner, I have also been through the language-learning process and I know what makes it interesting and fun! Based on my 4 years of teaching experience, I’m excited to help you speak Korean fluently! Teaching material will be provided as a pdf file to help your understanding, so just have your passion for Korean studies ready and join the lesson!

Korean for Beginners

We are going to start with the basics. You will learn

✅ Korean alphabet (Hangeul)
1. How Korean letter is structured
2. What are Korean consonants and vowels
3. The basic pronunciation rules
4. What is 받침 (Batchim)
✅ Basic phrases and vocabulary that you can use in daily life
✅ Structure of sentences, reading and writing simple sentences
✅ Basic grammar points and exercises to practice the grammar points
✅ Basic conversational expressions and tips
✅ Practice pronunciation, intonation and accent

Korean for Intermediates

We are going to expand on your existing knowledge. We will focus on

✅ Essential conversation and idiomatic expressions
✅ More complex grammar structures that are commonly used in real-life situations
✅ Essential vocabulary and making sentences using this vocabulary
✅ Fluency and accuracy in speaking, reading and writing
✅ Pronunciation, intonation and accent practice

Korean for Advanced

We are going to have a more challenging and nuanced approach. We will

✅ Read and analyze advanced and challenging materials such as academic papers and literary works written in Korean
✅ Discuss each topic and meanings of these works
✅ Focus on accuracy and style in your writing and speaking
✅ Learn using advanced vocabulary in your writing and speaking
✅ Use a variety of sentence structures and idiomatic expressions
✅ Detailed feedback on pronunciation, intonation and accent

TOPIK Preparation

TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is important if you want to study or work in Korea!

As preparation for the TOPIK exam, I am going to

✅ Assess your current proficiency level
✅ Provide a personalized study plan based on your strengths and weaknesses
✅ Provide a variety of learning materials (textbooks, vocabulary, past papers)
✅ Give regular feedback and assessments to track your progress
✅ Help you practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Korean regularly

What’s different❓
- In Korea, we don’t actually use complicated expressions that much in our daily life. In my class, I am going to share how you can use daily expressions that we mostly use.
- I’ll share the most efficient way to learn Korean using K-drama
- My class focuses on helping you pick up the Korean accent and intonation
