Information About Steedley - Cardiff teacher

Personal Description:

I am an English-American, currently living in Wales, who grew up in Italy. Both of my parents taught English to Italians for a living, as well as doing translations in those languages and others, so I’ve grown up in a linguistic environment.

Teaching Experience:

I have no formal experience in teaching Italian, however I was a teaching assistant at an English language summer camp for children for a number of years. I have also done many translations from one language to the other, and have informally taught these languages to countless students. Because of my Italian schooling, I have an in-depth knowledge on how Italian works as a language.

Teaching Approach:

Before starting lessons I would like to know why someone wants to learn Italian, as I find setting out a clear goal and motivation helps with the learning process. I tend to work with a mixture of grammatical rules and exercises along with some key phrases to start developing conversation. For more advanced learners I like to start teaching how and why Italian works the way it does, as well as providing conversation at a higher level.
