Information About Spicer - Luton teacher

Personal Description:

I am 39 years of age. I work full-time as a medical secretary to an eye surgeon at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital. I currently teach an Albanian lady English for 1 hour per week after work. I also teach 3 adults and 1 child English at my church alternate Saturday mornings.

Teaching Experience:

I have a degree in Linguistics and Spanish (2.1) gained in 2000. I have taught English at Barnfield college for 3 months on a part-time basis. I also obtain a recognised TEFL qualification. I have taught children from the age of 6-12 in a group situation and 1-1 for 2 years about 3 years ago. I have been teaching English to an Albanian lady now for 4 months and also run an English Corner at my church on an alternate Saturday morning basis. This involves teaching 3 adullts and 1 child.

Teaching Approach:

I believe that encouragement and building self-esteem is essential to teaching and also to establish a good rapport with child/adult teacher. I firmly believe in making teaching fun so that the child/adult can enjoy as well as learn at the time.
