Personal Description:
I am a 41 years old French native speaker, and I live in France. I have been teaching French and English as second languages since I'm 19, in France and overseas as freelance.
Living in France in Bordeaux, I ONLY OFFER ONLINE TUITION via Skype.
If you are looking for a private online tutor, I am the perfect match because I am native, qualified and experienced, efficient and friendly! I mainly teach to adults but I I'm used to children and the GCSE program.
Teaching Experience:
I have 2 Master degrees in French and English as second languages. This allows me to teach these 2 languages from primary school to private institutions and that is what I do everyday. I am used to teaching to adults of any level and of specific needs. I can also meet your child if online tuition is fine with you both, or if he/she needs to practice/ get ready for the GCSE exam.
Teaching Approach:
I live in France and I only offer ONLINE tuition via Skype. These tools include all we need for a successful tuition: video camera, microphone, chat and possibility to send written and audio files. It's basically like a face to face tuition except we're both home in a different country!
For children, I cover basic topics (birthday, seasons, events, food, home, activities… ) with songs, drawings, flashcards… For secondary students, I will boost your skills for your GCSE or A-Level exams. We will focus on the specific topics and themes you need to master to get ready for the test.
For adults, it will really depend on your goals: a French test, traveling (learning basics or getting more confident in understanding and speaking), practising to not forget your skills, professional, both… I have been and I am still working with every range of age and level, so I know how and I will adapt myself on the client needs.

From Michael (/5): Sophie is an excellent teacher of French. I find our lessons together enjoyable and interesting. Each lesson begins with conversation between us in French, before we go on to undertake more structured exercises in communication and grammar.
By mutual agreement, Sophie sets homework assignments which I can undertake in advance of the following lesson, and her feedback on my work is very helpful.
The Skype application is an ideal medium for the online lessons: the quality of the audio and video communication is very good, and it is easy to exchange and share resources to support the lesson and to aid further study. Most importantly, it allows me to have lessons with a native French speaker, which is very beneficial.

Sophie is friendly and makes learning French fun. She makes notes on the screen as we go along, and I print these off so that I can review them after the lesson. Doing lessons via Skype also fits with my lifestyle as I have to travel for work.

From Chris (/5): I have my lessons with Sophie via Skype. Sophie lives in France and I live in UK. Skype is just like having Sophie in the room and she types up instructions as we progress which also appear on the computer screen. The great saving factor in all this is time. I don't have to travel to/from lessons. "Homework" is sent and returned via email which is then checked before my next lesson. We've done this for three weeks and everything is going OK so far.

I was in need of doing French oral practice for a 2nd year university debate and she helped me hugely covering a wide range of current affair topics.
