Personal Description:
Experienced tutor of Tamil. Native Tamil speaker. I believe that teaching a language is a natural process and I adopted an all-inclusive approach to teaching Tamil: become proficient in reading, writing, speaking and listening. I am open to teaching online or in-person(within 4 miles). Sessions can be one-to-one or in small groups.
Teaching Experience:
Current: Teacher at Croydon Tamizh Kazhagam, Croydon, UK. Duties involve managing a class of diverse age-group of children from different backgrounds, teaching them Tamil with teaching aids, and encouraging them to learn Tamil in all ways possible. Duties involve conducting examinations and correcting the papers too.
For years, I have had extensive teaching experience in teaching Tamil to children as well as to adults in Tamilnadu, India.
Teaching Approach:
It is an all-inclusive approach which will target all the four spectra of language: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
I prefer the communicative approach which includes students learning the language as well as acquiring the language through role-play, simulating conversations in different situations, etc.
