Information About Ruben - Wallington teacher

Personal Description:

I'm originally from Lisbon, and I've been living in London since 2017. I have a background in applied linguistics and two MAs (University of Lisbon & University of London). I have extensive working experience in language teaching, as well as in other industries.
I am a keen learner of foreign languages. I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French and English, and I have a basic knowledge of German and Romanian. I have also studied Latin.

Teaching Experience:

I'm a native speaker of European Portuguese. I have been teaching Portuguese for fifteen years. I have classroom and remote teaching experience. I have worked with single individuals and large groups of different proficiency levels.
I have taught Portuguese as a non-native language in Portugal, Italy and the UK.

Teaching Approach:

My approach to teaching is tailored according to the students' learning objectives and communicational needs. I can help students improve in every language level (speaking, writing, listening… ).
Because I have extensive teaching experience, I am well-prepared to guide students in their path to mastering Portuguese, helping them stay motivated and confident when using Portuguese.
As stated above, I am a lifelong learner of foreign languages, and this helps me put myself in the student's shoes when I teach Portuguese. I can understand the anxiety of learning a new language, and I can help students develop a set of strategies to fully enjoy their language-learning experience.
