Information About Rebecca - Bristol teacher

Personal Description:

I'm an enthusiastic and committed English language teacher with a PGCE and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics (Distinction). I really enjoy teaching students at all levels, including general English, exam courses and for specific purposes like business or academic English. I'm currently doing my PhD in Second Language Learning at UCL and supporting MA students there, but have some limited availability to tutor English language students.

Teaching Experience:

I have 20 years' academic English teaching experience at five leading universities, most recently UCL, Bristol and NUS in Singapore. This includes teaching general and discipline-specific courses on Foundation, Pre-sessional and In-sessional programmes.

I also have 25 years' experience of teaching general English and exam preparation courses (e.g. IELTS, Cambridge exams) to adults and children in the UK and overseas.

Finally, I'm also involved in teacher education, including pre-service teacher training and supporting MA student teachers.

Teaching Approach:

My lessons are interactive, motivating and focused. I tailor classes to suit the interests and needs of each individual learner, drawing on my in-depth knowledge of the English language, current teaching approaches and high quality materials and resources.

I support students to achieve their full academic potential and to become confident users of the English language.
