Information About Raksha - Rickmansworth teacher

Personal Description:

I am a near native speaker. I studied French with Economics at Kingston University and then went on to study European Management at Dorset Business School in Bournemouth and University of Poitiers. The highlight of both courses was living, studying and working in France, first in Rennes and then Poitiers, immersing myself in the language and culture of a vast and dynamic country. After developing my business in home textiles I was fortunate to renovate and own a second family home near St Paul de Vence and Nice.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching French since 2009 to children of all ages in primary and secondary schools up to GCSE level and adults in conversational and business French. I also coach for the Kings Scholarship for entry into Eton.
Since March this year, I have taught successfully through Zoom and Skype and students have been extremely focussed throughout each hour of intense and fast paced sessions.
I gain immense satisfaction observing children gain overall confidence in several subject areas through being exposed to a foreign language.

Teaching Approach:

I believe the best way to learn a language is through frequent repetition, reinforcement, recycling and layering of information. I like to include memory games which are fun and challenging as well as interactive learning for students of all ages. Each session begins with a warm up with French conversation followed by recap of the content from the previous session and then layering of new content. Students find this method works best for retaining key phrases and grammar concepts.
