Information About Peter - Oxford teacher

Personal Description:

I have used both languages throughout my career working for NGOs and in the course of post-graduate study, this has involved giving talks at public meetings and conferences in different languages and undertaking lobbying meetings with State officials in France, Spain, Colombia. I have also experience of undertaking press/radio interviews in Spanish and French. I am currently studying for a PhD in law focused on Colombia.

Teaching Experience:

I have many years experience of teaching Spanish and French at different levels. I have taught both languages in to adults in further education colleges; I have taught French to university students and have taught Spanish and French at GCSE level and Spanish at A Level.

Teaching Approach:

I endeavour to provide language lessons which develop the student's grasp of grammar, strengthen their spoken language skills and comprehension.

To do this I seek to include exercises which encourage the student to speak, to explore a particular area of grammar, to listen to the language to strengthen comprehension skills and reading to improve pronunciation and increase vocabulary. I use audio, video and written materials to make lessons more engaging. To consolidate vocabulary and grammar knowledge I encourage translation from and to the language I am teaching.
