Teaching Experience:

STORY:

I began teaching English towards the the end of 1999; mainly to the Korean and Chinese students here in Birmingham who were studying the I.E.L.S.T Course and preparing for exams. Later, I then expanded to teach other communities and people from such countries as: Iran, Japan, Lithuania, Spain and Muscat.

In 2003, I travelled to China to pursue a teaching career thus; working in schools from mixed abilities, from a diverse range of ages: children and adults alike. A couple of times having to administer teaching lessons in the parks to the locals!

I arrived back in the UK and carried on mentoring and teaching English; and now teaching folk from China, Lithuanian and also British folk who needed help with reading writing and spelling (dyslexia). Additionally working as a support worker for a well known charity. This involved supporting homeless people develop new skills and prepare for independent living. through writing support plans and training schemes within the project, to promote independent living. This involved implementing a classroom based I.T / course called 'Computers Don't Byte' for those without computer experience or for those wishing to advance further into the IT field.

What-ever your ability, beginner or intermediate; I can help with speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills, primarily to learn English as a foreign language (or as a second language): from basic levels to advanced levels.

Teaching Approach:

I have a hands on approach to teaching, encouraging students to experience interaction through realia, role plays, games, reference material, video, music, group sessions, and also one to one.

I always try to wri**Contact Detail Removed**sson plans around the individual/s; and perform a needs analysis assessment within the first lesson and then wri**Contact Detail Removed**ssons working with a curriculum in mind; focusing on weaker areas and helping to develop them into their strengths using various techniques, interaction and integration.I mainly teach within Birmingham City Centre, but can travel within a reasonable distance should you require one to one tuition, at a nearby town.
