Hola amigos!
I am a native Spanish tutor from Valencia, Spain. My teaching career began at a prestigious language school affiliated to Cambridge University.
I specialise in offering private language tuition to young students preparing for their Spanish IGCSE/GCSE and A Level exams, as well as Cambridge Pre-U and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, in a wide range of schools all over the world (including USA, Hong Kong and New Zealand), boarding schools in the UK such as Eton College, Winchester College, The Leys School, Oundle School, The King's School, Cheltenham College and Oswestry School, as well as schools in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire including Berkhamsted School, St Albans High School for Girls, Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, Haberdashers' Aske's School for Girls, Dr Challoner's High School, Dr Challoner's Grammar School, Abbot's Hill School, Duncombe School, etc.
I am familiar and up to date with the new GCSE 9 - 1 grading system and confident teaching the recently introduced A Level units, books and films for both AQA and Edexel exam boards.
Many students have come to me with low and even failing school grades, often due to the poor way Spanish is taught in schools. After just a few sessions, they have seen significant improvement in their grades, a huge confidence boost and a new found love for the subject. Some of my students have won the Spanish Academic Award and many have come top of their class.

Absolutely Amazing Tutor!
Paula is fantastic!
She really goes out of her way to explain and organise every session with you. I could not have asked for any better! In one session, Paula explained grammar topics and boosted the confidence of my daughter! She even created worksheets and folders for revision. She is conscientious, a good planner and will immediately focus on what needs to be covered! Paula also has a nice, calm and friendly demeanour which many children would love. She immediately captured my daughter's interest and that helps a great deal in the learning a language process and doing well in the tests and examinations. So happy to have her!

I looked for a tutor in October just before they sat their mocks before Christmas so the tutor given them a few lessons before the mocks but then could see where they were at once we got the mocks results back. Then start them on a path for after Christmas with where their gaps were.
I found Paula on first tutors and was very impressed with her CV and her level of professionalism. We agreed on lessons at our home to support one of my twins that had missed 6 months of school and felt that was better than online lessons.
From the first lesson to the last lesson just before their last Spanish exam, Paul turnt up on time, packed full of lessons plans, with a high level professionalism and fun and warmth that engaged my daughters from the moment she she walked in the door .
Lessons were always printed off in advanced, home work set if we asked for it and was always happy to look at class workout they were struggling with or check over their revision. Paula knew the exam board inside out and was comfortable to all areas of the curriculum.
Paula's lesson's gave back the confidence to my twin that had missed the chunk of time off school. Within a few lessons Paula could see she knew the content it was the time talking in Spanish with her teacher that she had lacked and Paula built up that confidence very quickly. By the two girls having their lesson together it meant they could talk on Spanish together and quiz each other and have conversations together with Paula and worked to their advantage.
Paula always greeted hello and said good bye in Spanish and asked questions of their week in Spanish and they would have little jokes back between them in Spanish that built over the months of lessons. She always had time to talk to me after a lesson to give feed back, I always felt like I was getting an honest answer.
We were sad when the lessons finished at the end of exams, as Paula gave both my girls the confidence back that they needed in speaking and translation that they weren't getting in a class of 30. Both the girls teachers at school had made comments before their exams that the girls vocabulary had expanded and were impressed with both off their confidence levels when it came to the speaking exams.
I wish i had started lessons with Paula in year 10 instead of leaving it to year 11, having lessons every week in year 11 worked for us to get back that confidence and cement the foundations but I wish we had of started in year 10 once a month just to cement those foundations sooner .
They both got their results back and both hit their target grades and very pleased with their results and feel that all those lessons with Paula helped them feel confident in the exam.
We will be using Paul's again for our younger daughter if she takes Spanish.

All the tuition has been conducted remotely, which has worked well allowing flexibility of the timing of his lessons and he has enjoyed the lessons with her. From Tania (/5): So lucky to have found Paula. She is a wonderful Spanish tutor. Incredibly patient and kind, she got the very best out of both my sons. One had found Spanish in general quite difficult the other found it easier but wanted to improve his speaking skills. Both have now widened their Spanish vocabulary and their accents are excellent. As a result of a Paula’s tutoring they achieved top marks for their GCSE Spanish and Institute of Linguists exams. One of my sons continues to have lessons with Paula now even though he is not taking Spanish for A level as he wants to continue to develop his Spanish further. Completely his choice but clearly thoroughly enjoys learning with her.

From James (/5): We contacted Paula shortly before our daughter was due to take her GCSE Spanish Oral as she was feeling a little nervous about it. Our daughter was not sure if a tutor would help but after the first hour Paula had boosted her confidence and given her a lot of helpful feedback. We asked Paula to come back each week during the GCSE exams and she was extremely helpful both during the sessions and by providing exercises for self-study.
Our daughter is now much more confident in Spanish and is expecting a good grade in her GCSE. She has enjoyed it so much that she has now opted to take Spanish at A-level.
Paula is an extremely friendly and diligent tutor and we would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody looking for some Spanish tuition.

Due to her dedication and patience my Spanish has improved so much; not only is she enthusiastic during our lessons but also always provides extra materials outside our class. I have lessons with Paula through Skype, which has been a good experience and not at all hindered my learning. From Shirley (/5): I have just completed session 6 with Paula.I was very nervous before the first class, but Paula put me at ease immediately and spoke to me in Spanish as soon as she met me at the door.She is a very smiley person, very professional and conversation ranges over all kinds of subjects which I couldn't have imagined before after being at a U3A beginners class.I have homework mainly in the form of expressive writing, and although I have to look up many words it is helping me to understand the structure of the language and to think in Spanish.I am motivated, at the age of 75, to learn more, and of course to speak more.

From Michelle (/5): Myself and my 2 daughters (ages 13 & 9) have been having lessons with Paula 6 months now. The lessons are fun for the children whilst learning and I can't believe how much we've learnt and retained in such a short time, Paula is patient and thorough and we always look forward to our lessons… Brilliant tutor would highly recommend.

From Pauline (/5): Excellent. My daughter needed exam specific help for her A2 paper and having visited Paula for 5 two hour sessions, we are delighted with the tuition Paula has provided. Paula is so organised in her approach and quickly identified areas where my daughter most needed help. Specific work was set by Paula to improve her skills and she has gained in confidence as a result. Most importantly, Paula was familiar with the exam board and texts my daughter studies and so could get straight to it with no time wasted. I would thoroughly recommend Paula.

Paula was very welcoming, and assessed for weak areas before working on strengthening them. She immediately knew how best to work with my daughter and after only 3hrs of lessons my daughter has gone into her school exams with a new level of confidence. Very professional approach.

From Jennifer (/5): I had ten lessons with Paula from August-October 2014 in order to improve on my intermediate level Spanish. I found Paula really easy to get along with and the lessons always flew by. Paula totally adapted the lessons to fit my interests, for example bringing reading and lesson material that matched my hobbies and interests, but which also improved my vocabulary and grammar. She is fantastic to talk with and I felt totally at ease. She is very flexible around when, where and for how long you want lessons and around your learning style and goals. I'd highly recommend Paula!

My son describes her as supportive, flexible to his needs (e.g. not a rigid lesson plan and able to go through issues that came up in the week). She identified and strengthened his weaker areas and was able to find new ways of reviewing them. She is kind, caring and lessons were fun.
From my parent perspective, she was professional, kind, understanding and responsive to the needs of my son. I would highly recommend Paula. Thank you.
