Personal Description:
I love teaching and really enjoy my lessons with my students - I concentrate on GCSE but also teach younger students as well as adults who want to rediscover their language skills as recreation.
I am now back to face-to-face teaching but Zoom and Skype work very well too.
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring in French and German for 12 years concentrating mainly on GCSE and occasionally supporting A level students. I am very familiar with the Exam Boards’ curricula. As part of my degree in French and German I spent a year in Germany teaching English in a classroom environment but it is the one to one teaching that I do now as a tutor that is the most rewarding. I also work at a local selective comprehensive school as language assistant in both languages.
Teaching Approach:
To share my love of languages and teach others as I have learned, as an English speaker. Grammar is essential but can so easily be off-putting, so my aim is to make this as easy as possible, looking for patterns, noting exceptions etc. A good grasp of this will really help students progress.
