My professional profile is mainly divided into two areas: Environmental Biology - Natural Science - Italian teaching/translation.
Professional competences on the Environmental Biology - Natural Science field have been acquired during my undergraduate studies in Ecological Science and Environmental Education and the master in Biodiversity and Environmental Quality (both with first-honours grades). Several internship/volunteer activities and training courses have enriched my curriculum on this area and allowed me to enhance my knowledge and expertise.
The Italian teaching area has been developed during the last 3 years (two of which have been spent in United Kingdom), even though I have been passionate on either linguistic structures or teaching/learning processes since High School, inspired by the family atmosphere in which my parents and some relatives transmitted me the passion.

I encourage you to participate actively to the lesson, and, according to the purpose, I promote activities, games and practical exercises focused on your needs. I do not prefer explaining concepts using only schematic structures, but I try to understand your main needs and gaps and I tail the lessons to your specific learning processes.

When we first met, I spoke a few words of Italian and was developing an understanding of the complexity of Italian grammar. What with thirteen tenses, subject, object, adjective agreement, coupled with a very different syntax to English, it felt a very tall order to begin to make any tangible progress at all!
Paola has a kind and gentle approach to teaching others her native language, nurturing my confidence to express myself as richly as I can,while still at this early stage of my learning, in a way which excites my curiosity , coupled with a genuine sense of creativity and achievement! We laugh together too, which always helps make the World go round!
As an adult learner , I certainly could not welcome Paola highly enough! Her warm, welcoming home, gentle smile and genuine encouragement and flexibility make learning Italian an absolute delight! She has the gift of bringing alive the musicality and joy of her Mother Tongue!
